Dino-Themed Sarasota Newborn Session

If you’ve ever imagined a newborn session that feels completely personal, this is it. This Themed Sarasota Newborn Session was designed for sweet baby Parker James—featuring soft blues, cozy textures, and the perfect touch of dinosaur magic.

A Returning Family, A New Story to Tell

There’s something extra special about photographing a family more than once. Just a year ago, I photographed Parker’s big sister, Paisley. When Grandma Niki reached out again—this time to welcome Parker—I was honored to create something new, meaningful, and custom for this growing family.

Instead of our usual in-home setup, we held this session in my own space—something I only offer in special circumstances. Since Parker’s session was a baby only session, it was a perfect fit.

Designing a Dino-Inspired Newborn Session

Parker’s mom, Alexis, had one sweet request: a dinosaur theme using a blanket they brought from home. I built a custom setup with jungle greenery, earthy tones, and a not-so-scary dinosaur to complete the look. It was a fun twist on a traditional session—unique, creative, and still soft and timeless

The rest of the gallery featured shades of blue and gray, and sweet props that highlight Parker’s tiny features. Whether snuggled in a basket, cradled in a swing, or wrapped peacefully on a blanket, Parker made every image glow.

From Vision to Artwork

While I usually share parents’ reflections from their post-session surveys, Parker’s family was focused on simply enjoying their gallery. (And who can blame them—life with a newborn is busy!)
As a photographer, it’s a joy to look back and see how thoughtfully this session came together. Every prop, wrap, and detail was selected to reflect this family’s vision. They chose a beautiful set of matted prints to preserve their favorites in a way that’s elegant and timeless.
